How to Make Spicy Cinnamon Ginger Cookies

  • 3/4 cup Palm Shortening, plus additional 1 tablespoon for greasing baking sheet
  • 1 tablespoon Blackstrap Molasses
  • 1/4 cup Maple Sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon Vanilla Powder
  • 3/4 cup Arrowroot Starch
  • 1/4 cup Cassava Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 drops Cinnamon oil
  • 4 drops Ginger oil

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a large baking sheet by rubbing it with one tablespoon of palm shortening.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the palm shortening and blackstrap molasses using a hand mixer, then add the cinnamon oil and ginger oil, mix well. In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients and gradually add them to the wet mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.

Step 3

Shape the dough into 12 balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball gently with the bottom of a glass. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then allow to cool for 20 minutes before enjoying.
