Ingredients
Double Crust:
- 2 cups cassava flour
- 1 3/4 cups arrowroot
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp maple sugar or coconut sugar
- 14 Tbsp grass-fed butter or ghee
- 2 large eggs
Filling:
- 3 lbs apples, peeled and sliced into even 1/4” slices
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 drop Nutmeg Oil
- 3 drops Cinnamon Oil
- 1 drop Ginger Oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 drops Lemon Oil
- 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon maple sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp arrowroot
- 2 tbsp grass-fed butter or ghee
Instructions
Step 1
Begin by pulsing the dry ingredients in a food processor, then add eggs to form the dough.
Step 2
Chill the dough discs while preparing the apple filling to ensure a perfect crust.
Step 3
Roll out the dough between parchment paper for easy transfer to the pie dish.
Step 4
Toss apple slices with lemon juice, oils, and spices, then refrigerate until ready to use.
Step 5
Layer the apple filling in the prepared crust, dot with butter, and cover with the top crust.
Step 6
Bake until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly, then cool before serving.
